I want to become either a medical sonographer or a medical office manager. To some real life people who have done those jobs, how much did you make starting out and what were your hours like?

Answer
If you work at a doctor's office rather than a hospital, a sonographer works 8 AM - 5 PM Mon - Fri and makes $45,000 - $50,000 to start.

What administrative health careers offer bonuses or commissions?

JellyBean

Someone once told me that his sister had a job in the healthcare field (administrative not clinical) where she earned very good money with commissions in addition to her salary.

It was not RX Sales, I can't remember her title.

Does anybody have any idea which ADMINISTRATIVE Health/Medical positions offer this?

THANKS

Answer
These days, not many. Money is tight.

What will happen to health careers if/when there will be free health career?

Phil

have a friend who is a taking nursing and will will graduate to be an R.N. i'm concerned what will happen when she graduates though and the free health that may pass. will this affect her career? or her sallary?

Answer
Remember that it's not guaranteed that the government will take over the medical industry. Last I read, it's not doing so good with the Senate. I'm sure it won't pass, because socialism doesn't work, and it's not the American way.

She will end up working for the government if it does pass. Some government workers are paid decently, but you never know.
