Anyone have any experiences they can share?

Thanks

Answer
The best thing you can do is stay out of the way. This is likely to be a traumatic event for your brother and possibly also for you. Just let the police and ambulance people get on with their job. The important thing will be to help your brother recover, visiting him in hospital regularly talking to him and listening to him. The police and ambulance people will show up, they will read the grounds for sectioning him, explain that he is now sectioned and will take him away in the ambulance. There is a chance that they might sedate him too, though that would hopefully be unlikely.

Can you be sectioned under mental health act for anxiety?

Squawkbox

I mean really bad anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia. Not just a bit of nerves. I think im getting worse, even tho im taking meds, sometimes i feel like im going mad. I dont want to go back to my GP cos he might think im bonkers. I also have a phobia of doctors and had a panic attack last time i was there which just makes it harder.

Answer
You could always commit yourself voluntarily. It's unlikely you would be sectioned because it's generally people who are a danger to themselves or someone else, and people that don't realise their mentally ill. If the doctor suggested you be admitted to hospital and you agreed then they wouldn't section you.

What happens if you are sectioned under the Mental Health Act?

Q. If you are a 15 year old girl living in the UK.

Answer
they put you in hospital for 28 days during this time they will give you lots of help in talking about your problems finding solutions and some medication to help during your stay they work out with you how to live without the pain your in they work on housing benefits the whole lot as your young you will be given lots of help its always good to go voultary but if your section it will be two doctors who think you are a danger to yourself if your in pain get help . Life is too short you have a great big life to enjoy good luck
